About Us
Web Office Systems Ltd was established in 2002 as an escape from Central London where Matthew Ballinger had been working as a freelance consultant for some years.
After the first year he managed to persuade Dr. Richard Irwin, another freelance consultant whom he worked with for some time in London, to join him as Technical Director.
Since then, the company has evolved and grown slowly and carefully to ensure the excellent, balanced team we have today. Building our company in this manner has enabled us to deliver excellence to our clients, with processes in place to ensure consistancy going forward. This excellence has been recognised externally.
Following an assessment by an independent organisation, Web Office Systems has been successful in achieving ISO 9001 Accreditation. This internationally recognised award is a benchmark for quality.

Matthew Ballinger has vast experience in business process analysis, web application development and e-commerce.
Amongst his many projects he has developed e-commerce applications for a major UK investment bank, allowing them to sell their managed fund products online.
He acted as a programming consultant on a major Yahoo! Corporate Services portal deployment for a global pharmaceutical giant and also managed and implemented a major data migration project for one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world.
Over the past few years, Matthew has been the driving force behind our core product FuseMetrix using his knowledge of real life business situations to define the overall architecture. An architecture so flexible that it allows FuseMetrix to be moulded into almost any business situation.
Matthew originally specified and designed our Docklands data center. To this day he still takes personal responsibility for overseeing its operation, where he has consistantly maintained our hosting at over 99.99% availability for the past three years.

After completing his doctorate in physics at Exeter University in 1996, Richard went on to work as a freelance contractor. Richard ran his contracting company until joining forces with Matthew Ballinger in 2003 when he was invited to join Web Office Systems as Technical Director.
Richard has worked on many projects over the years for clients as diverse as Dolphin Telecom, Office of Fair Trading, ABN AMRO Bank, PowerChannel, Yahoo!, Reuters, MSD, NHS, Complete Group and T-Mobile.
Richard has gained a huge amount of experience in a wide variety of languages and platforms.
Richard, in his role as Technical Director oversees all of our development teams and is responsible for the software architecture of FuseMetrix and Response Mail.
